AK12M2 is a secondary aluminium–silicon–copper casting alloy designed primarily for high-pressure die-casting. With approximately 12% silicon and 2% copper, the alloy offers excellent castability, good mould filling, low shrinkage and suitable machinability. It is commonly used for automotive components, engine and gearbox housings, pump and valve bodies, electrical equipment housings and other complex thin-walled castings.
