These physical gold products are particularly attractive to UK investors as they are exempt from VAT and capital gains tax (CGT), due to their legal tender status. In 2014, the Mint launched RoyalMintBullion.com, a 24/7 online platform allowing customers to buy, store, and sell gold and silver bullion with ease. Storage is offered in the Mint’s own high-security Vault™, located within its South Wales facility. For more flexible, fractional investment, the Mint also offers DigiGold, a fully backed digital gold product that allows investors to purchase portions of physical gold held securely by the Mint—without taking physical delivery.
